Theme Description:

Built by the same designer as the basic Arthemia Theme, the premium version, Arthemia Premium is an advanced theme built on one of the most customizable content management systems available.

The main theme page consists of a featured post area, with a list of additional featured posts to the right, links to up to five categories and a description beneath spreading across the entire width of the page, a longer post beneath this area, and post excerpts as the final content area. Each of these areas has prevalent thumbnails, which area all automatically generated from a larger image that you have uploaded. This feature alone saves quite some time, as you don’t have to resize multiple images for use in the theme.

Within the sidebar, post excerpts from selected categories are displayed, followed by an AdSense/banner block, additional sidebar space for widgets (Recent Comments, Archives, a Blogroll, and Tags), alternating between a one and two column sidebar.

The footer features a three column layout, ideal for placing Recent, Most Commented, and Most Viewed Post links.

On single post pages, the featured post excerpt sweeps across the entire top of the page beneath the navigation area, so visitors arriving via search engines can visit your most recent post. The theme is ready for Gravatars for both visitors and authors.

While many of the same characteristics are evident in this adaptation of the theme, the backend panel is what sets it apart from the free version of the theme. Similar to other themes currently for sale, this theme allows you to enter the theme’s custom admin panel, customize the header logo, favicon, homepage headline, featured category, items in the category bar, category colors and styles, banner advertisements, and easily implement your Google AdSense and FeedBurner code.

These options themselves are worth a great deal of money, considering the time and hassle of having to go into the theme code and find the appropriate code if it isn’t commented. Plus, since you can add advertisements to the theme, it is easy to monetize your site - ad blocks are present beneath posts, in the header, sidebar, and other areas (requires editing the code if you want to place it in alternative areas). These areas are ideal for placing banner or AdSense advertisements.

Much like the original version of this theme, it will surely present your visitors with the “wow” factor, as it makes it easy to present a lot of content in a relatively small space through the use of the magazine layout. In addition, it remains one of the best-styled (at least in my opinion) magazine-style themes available.
